General Information

The Dreambox 500s receiver runs on open-source software developed by hundreds of developers around the world. This is the ultimate machine. If you're looking for a VERY powerful unit, and something to have fun on, this is the unit for you. Not used for Cable (i.e. Virgin) Used for Sky and other Satellite broadcasters.  The Dreambox 500s is by far the best FTA receiver in the market. Affordable in comparison to the DM7000 but with all the fixings. This FTA box is in a class of it's own.  Imagine full EPG functionality for all networks!!!!! No other FTA receiver can offer you that!

You can connect up to 4 different LNBs to a 4-way switch (included) and one output to the receiver. The Dreambox 500s will understand each individual LNB signal, and download all the channels for that satellite. For instance, if one LNB were pointing as Dish Network, you would set up LNB 1 to download all 300 DishNet stations (PPV, sports, everything). This would populate channels 1 - 300 on the system.

If LNB 2 were pointing at another satellite company, you would then be able to set up LNB 2 to download channels 301 - 600. This can continue for up to 4 different satellite signals. Potentially, with enough dishes, you could flip from channels 1 - 1200, without missing any stations!!

To use this receiver requires a satellite dish because it is a satellite receiver, connect everything together and connect, then turn the receiver on and start a station search.

As it was said this product worth every penny... tho the price of delivery is a good half the price of the product. It does supports latest (2008-2009) gemini images. So if you need a cheap and very functional receiver for your weekend cottage - thats the choice :-)
